The cattle was used as the beasts of burden to pull wagons loaded with crops. River boats packed animals also to transport goods. Their was plenty of trade in between cities and farms. Good like copper, stone, wood and animals were exported from parts of India, Afghanistan. Persia and Mesopotamia.

Why did they draw on seals?
People of the Indus valley used pictographic writing which as the writing of picture and they wrote it on seals. They decided to use a different type of paper and found it easier.

Seals are 2-3 inch squares made of soapstone.
With clay they made figures of naked women. From copper,bronze,silver and gold they made ornaments like pots, pans,tools,dice and ceramic toys. Their furniture was made of ivory. They liked to use the colors red and black and made shaped on monkeys and squirrels allot.

They built cities on a gridiron plan. They were made of mud bricks and coated-it with plastic to avoid flooding. Their houses were built on zigzag lines. The city was split into two a religious side and a government side. They had no windows and no decorations.

They worshiped fertile gods and small statues. Gods could be the sun or land. Also animals could be their gods.

Seasonal flooding occurred which brought rich soil. They grew wheat, barely, melons, peas and raised sheep, goats and chicken. They domesticated animals and grew cotton.

Men and women wore robes of cotton and wool which was a dress that had their shoulders bare. Both sexes wore large necklaces, earrings and bangles. Women had braids and headdresses while man had long beards and hair.
