- Justinian ruled from 527-565
- Emperor had all the laws of ancient Rome collected, revised, and organized
- His code became the basis for Western European law in 1100’s A.D.
- Determined to grander all of ancient Rome
- Conquered North Africa, Italy, and Southern Spain
- He made a good trade area since the Byzantine Empire covered all the coasts of the continents. This was good because then they controlled all of the Trade.
- People tried to bring down Justinian but, his wife saved the day and made speeches defending her husband convincing the people he was a good man.
- Under Justinian the Byzantine Empire became very cultural and creative
- Built the Hagia Sophia
- Magnificent use of arches to support huge domed roof.
Great Schism
After the Great schism happened the English church was split into two halves. This as well was the end of the Byzantine Empire. The Western eastern church which was the roman catholic church and the Eastern christian church which was the Orthodox church.
Roman Catholic church has the pope as a leader and accepted purgatory and the doctrine sin. Wile the Orthodox Church does not accept the doctrine sin or the purgatory. They believed that sins should not be forgiven. They as well used icons to teach their religion and use as decoration in the church.

Ghangas would tie their hand to one horse and the other to another horse then the horses would run apart causing the person's body to rip into 2 pieces. Ghangas married many women and now their are many of his decedents still alive. Ghangas loved negative things like scaring his people and making them mad, he enjoyed this. Maybe his personality is because of his sad childhood. Ghanagas' father died when he was at a young age and his wife he loved got stolen from him.
